Website Costs & Hosting
Transparent overview of costs, hosting and everything that goes into a web project
How Much Does a Website Cost?
The cost of a website depends on many factors. Here I give you an honest overview so you can plan your budget realistically.
Factors that influence the price
Scope & Number of Pages
A simple 5-page website costs less than a comprehensive online shop with 500 products.
Design Effort
Standard templates are cheaper than custom design. Tailored design takes more time.
Features & Functionality
A contact form is simple. Booking system, member area or shop integration costs more.
Content Creation
Will you provide texts and images yourself, or should I handle that?

What you get
A clear, documented plan that you can use as a basis – whether you build with me or someone else. The concept is yours.
The concept package is completely independent from development. It's not a requirement for working with me – but many clients find it helps to have a solid plan before investing in implementation.

Ongoing Costs
In addition to the one-time development costs, there are ongoing costs you should plan for.
Domain
$10-15 / yearYour internet address (e.g., your-company.com). Must be renewed annually.

Hosting
$5-50 / monthThe storage space for your website. Price depends on traffic and requirements.
SSL Certificate
Often freeEncrypted connection (https://). Included with most hosts.
Maintenance & Updates
OptionalRegular updates, security patches and technical support.
Email Mailboxes
$1-5 / month per mailboxProfessional email addresses with your domain (info@your-company.com).
What is Hosting?
For your website to be accessible on the internet, it needs a 'parking space' - that's hosting. Without hosting, nobody can visit your site.
Why do I need this?
Think of your website as a shop. The domain is the address (123 Main Street), hosting is the building where your shop is located. No building - no shop.
What does it cost?
Depending on your website's size and requirements, between $5 and $50 per month. For most small business websites, $5-15 is more than enough.
The good news:
You don't have to worry about technical details. I'll choose the right solution together with you for your project and can manage the hosting for you if desired.
