2. Overview of Data Processing

On this website, I process personal data only to the extent necessary. The following data processing takes place:

• Contact form and AI assistant (when used)
• Technically necessary cookies for language settings
• Server log files by the hosting provider
• Usage analytics with OpenPanel (on my own server)

3. Hosting

This website is hosted externally. The personal data collected on this website is stored on the host's servers. This may include IP addresses, contact requests, meta and communication data, contract data, contact details, names, website accesses, and other data generated via a website.

I have concluded a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with Hetzner Online GmbH in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. The servers are located in Germany.

4. Contact Form

When you use the contact form, the following data is processed:

• Name (required)
• Email address (required)
• Your message (required)
• IP address and timestamp (automatically collected)
• Browser and device information (automatically collected)

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to inquiries)

Retention period: Your inquiry will be stored for the duration of processing and beyond for any follow-up questions. After completion, the data will be deleted unless legal retention obligations exist.

Spam Protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)

To protect my contact form against automated abuse and spam, I use Cloudflare Turnstile, a service provided by Cloudflare, Inc. Turnstile checks in the background whether the request comes from a human, without requiring you to solve a puzzle.

• Browser and device information and technical characteristics (e.g. user agent)
• Interaction signals to distinguish humans from bots

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in protecting the contact form from spam and abusive use)

Data transfer: Cloudflare also processes data in the USA. Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) apply in addition. A Data Processing Agreement under Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with Cloudflare. In its standard configuration, Turnstile sets no cookies and is loaded only on the contact form.

5. AI Assistant

I offer an AI-powered assistant on my website that helps you create a project inquiry. When you use it, your chat messages are transmitted to OpenAI to generate an AI response.

The transmission occurs through my server - your browser does not connect directly to OpenAI. Nevertheless, your inputs are forwarded to OpenAI for processing.

OpenAI uses the data according to their privacy policy. I have concluded a Data Processing Addendum (DPA) with OpenAI Ireland Ltd in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. The use of your inputs for training AI models is disabled by default when using the API.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent through use of the assistant) and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures)

Data transfer: For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), OpenAI Ireland Ltd is the contracting party. To the extent that data is transferred to OpenAI affiliates or sub-processors outside the EEA, this is done on the basis of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) according to Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR or an adequacy decision. You can avoid using the AI assistant and use the classic contact form instead.

6. Cookies

My website uses cookies to provide you with an optimal user experience. You can choose which cookies you want to accept via the cookie banner.

7. Usage Analytics

To understand how my website is used, I run OpenPanel. The analysis runs on my own server at openpanel-api.develojo.com. The data is not passed on to third parties and does not leave the EU. OpenPanel sets no cookies and neither stores nor reads any information on your device.

• Pages visited and time of access
• Referrer, meaning the page you visited before
• Browser and device information as well as the approximate country of origin
• Actions triggered, such as clicks on buttons and the scroll depth reached

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for the brief processing of the IP address (legitimate interest in statistical analysis of usage in order to improve my services)

The statistics contain no personal reference. Your IP address is used only briefly, to derive a daily-rotating, non-reversible identifier and your approximate country of origin; it is not stored in the process. Once the identifier rotates, a visit can no longer be attributed to anyone, myself included. No user profiles are created and there is no recognition beyond the individual day.

Independently of this, the web server logs every request. See section 8 for details.

8. Server Log Files

The provider of this website automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser automatically transmits:

• Browser type and version
• Operating system used
• Referrer URL (previously visited page)
• IP address of the accessing computer
• Time of server request

9. Images

Some of the images in my knowledge base at /resources were created with AI image generators. They are used for illustration only. They do not show real people, real businesses or projects actually carried out.

10. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR): You can request information about your processed personal data.
• Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR): You can request correction of inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR): You can request deletion of your data unless retention obligations apply.
• Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR): You can request restriction of processing of your data.
• Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR): You can receive your data in a structured format.
• Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): You can object to the processing of your data.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

I reserve the right to adapt this privacy policy to comply with changed legal requirements or changes to my services.
